Specialized Recruiting Group in Midland, TX is searching for an experienced Control Room Operator for a Leading Oil/Gas Company in Barnhart, TX.
This is a direct hire opportunity and pay is $35-$55/hour depending on experience.
Job Summary:
The Control Room Operator position will support the overall monitoring of maintenance of the field operations to ensure that everything is working properly, and prioritized items are handled in a timely fashion. This position will look closely to identify any abnormal operating and equipment conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Central point of contact for all field operations, especially in emergency situations
- Continuously monitors horizontal and vertical facilities to help Lease Operators pump by exception
- Monitors the operation of emissions control equipment and adjusts it to meet State and Federal Guidelines
- Monitors alarms and oil call-ins
- Order trucks for water dispatch and coordinate with water haulers to ensure water is hauled in a timely manner
- When abnormalities are detected, troubleshoot, or repair the issue to minimize safety risks and economic losses by delegating to/informing Production Department personnel
- Utilizes SCADA to drive maintenance and efficiency
- Utilizes Automation to monitor SWD and water transfer activity
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of Lease Operating experience; both vertical and horizontal wells
- Previous Control Room Operating experience preferred
- College preferred
Skills and Knowledge:
- Must possess the knowledge and skillset to operate various Production equipment; ability to troubleshoot all equipment
- Ability to identify opportunities for production optimization in both vertical and horizontal assets
- Ability to operate various switches, control devices, and valves, and knowledge of the effects each has on total operations
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must
- Strong aptitude in math; ability to use addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to perform flow, pressure, performance, and meter calculations
- Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Work well under pressure
- Possess problem-solving skills
- Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Production Accounting software, SCADA, Camera systems etc.
- Basic knowledge of Production, Completion and Workover
- Knowledge of Rod Pump, Plunger, ESP and Gas Lift Systems
