At Eni, we are looking for a Drilling Engineer within lEOC Production B.V. in Cairo, Egypt. You will be responsible for developing well designs and layouts that optimise investments while applying the highest standards of engineering integrity, safety and environmental protection. You will also draft drilling plans and support their execution by providing engineering advice and updating, when necessary, the well design and execution plans.

Main responsibilities:
- Prepare well programmes (onshore and offshore) in a timely and technically sound manner.
- Comply with company rules, best practices and operational and engineering procedures.
- Based on sound engineering practices, prepare detailed work programmes for the activities to be carried out (including engineering studies and verifications such as casing design, hydraulic programmes, etc.), identifying the materials and equipment required for implementation; ensure detailed programmes are duly authorised and shared/agreed upon with contractors involved in the activity.
- Liaise with exploration, subsurface geology, reservoir engineering and other relevant disciplines as required for the same scope.
- Provide for the modification or integration of work programmes if dictated by changing circumstances, ensuring proper internal and external approvals are obtained.
- Ensure that lessons learnt and related recommendations are incorporated into future programmes to improve the performance of subsequent well operations.
- Liaise with Logistics on all aspects of well construction activities, particularly those related to information and data acquisition and validation.
- Monitor the latest technological developments and initiate the application of promising innovations to achieve targets effectively.
- Monitor progress in terms of time and cost; report deviations from the plan promptly to the line manager. Ensure that data and information from the well site are accurate and consistent with ongoing operations to build a reliable database.
- Build and maintain operational databases (performance, accidents, downtime, malfunctions and failures).
- Perform analyses to evaluate current performance versus planned or benchmarked targets; prepare relevant reports and propose actions where improvements are possible.
- Prepare reports and other documents related to the planning, implementation and monitoring of activity progress.
- Review the overall course of operations to identify strengths and weaknesses; propose and recommend measures to improve drilling performance.
- Prepare end-of-activity reports in collaboration with relevant contractors, suppliers and other company disciplines.
- Participate in tendering exercises for the provision of materials, equipment, and services related to well operations (including technical evaluations and preparation of technical reports).
- Provide engineering assistance at the rig site if requested.
Skills and experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Drilling or Petroleum engineering, or related.
- Significant experience in a similar role within the oil & gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of offshore and onshore drilling requirements.
- Knowledge of HSE in relation to drilling environments.
- Strong communication (both verbal and written) and listening skills.
- Professional level of English.
