The company focuses its production activities off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, particularly with the Area 1 Project. Eni Mexico is dedicated to sustainable practices and community support initiatives, including local economic development, environmental sustainability, and education projects. We provide a supportive and inclusive work environment, opportunities for professional growth, and the chance to be part of innovative energy projects that contribute to a fair energy transition.

Main responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the main O&M contractor to review, develop and manage mechanical engineering maintenance services to support day-to-day operations and maintenance activities in the field. Provide mechanical technical assistance to the field operations team and coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs) or manufacturer representatives as required.
  • Support the definition of budgets, focusing on mechanical engineering aspects of operations (production and maintenance), ensuring alignment with the approved budget.
  • Contribute to the development of short-term and long-term mechanical maintenance strategies.
  • Lead small modification and improvement projects related to mechanical systems, ensuring safe execution, timely delivery and adherence to budget. Follow the Management of Change (MoC) process, maintain updated KPIs for each discipline area (major and critical mechanical equipment), and perform site surveys with follow-up reports and corrective action plans.
  • Identify, create and adopt appropriate engineering discipline standards aimed at optimising production by addressing process/facility bottlenecks, flow assurance issues, and related challenges.

  • Good knowledge of mechanical hydrocarbon process equipment and utilities, rotating and turbomachinery, and static mechanical and pipeline management systems.
  • Familiarity with Mexican local regulations and international standards, as well as recommended practices for operations and maintenance in oil and gas production or processing facilities.
  • Ability to understand mechanical discipline-specific drawings and specifications, e.g. P&IDs, mechanical sectional drawings, loop diagrams, schematic diagrams, and other technical documents.
  • Experience as a CMMS system user for reviewing mechanical work order task reports and providing feedback for improvement (SAP CMMS preferred).
  • Familiarity and experience with a variety of rotating and mechanical equipment (e.g. gas turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating pumps, diesel and gas engines, hydraulics and pneumatics, pedestal cranes, various valves, centrifugal and reciprocating gas compressors, piping, pressure vessels), including manufacturers’ practices for overhaul, repair, and reliability upgrades. Specific knowledge of mechanical equipment used in WHP and FPSO applications is considered an advantage.
  • Understanding of mechanics (kinematics, dynamics), thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, material strength and properties, root cause analysis, and predictive analytics.
  • Experience in developing and reviewing procedures related to mechanical and rotating equipment.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis (RCA) and troubleshooting of operational equipment using state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques.
  • Operational knowledge of production and maintenance tasks, including material management (MM), small capital projects, and CAPEX/OPEX budgeting and cost control.
